About


Having specialised in both forensic science and biomedical science at MSc level, and, in addition to my experience across various areas of biomedical science, I also have experience in multiple aspects of crime scene investigation, including blood pattern analysis, body fluids/DNA analysis and interpretation, trace evidence analysis and writing forensic reports. I am also a professional member of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences. Prior to transitioning to academia, I was employed with the Libyan Criminal Investigation Department. My previous positions include the roles of Technical Supervisor of the Department of Biology and DNA Unit at the Judicial Expertise and Research Centre, Ministry of Justice, Libya, and Dean of the Faculty of Medical Technology at Tobruk University. As well as teaching at Tobruk University, I currently work as a health consultant at the National Centre for Disease Control, as a forensic consultant at the Judicial Expertise and Research Centre, and as a research associate at the Libyan Medical Research Centre, Libya. In addition, I serve as an advisory and editorial board member for several journals. My current research interests include a wide range of biomedical and forensic science-related research activities, with an emphasis on disease control at both national and global levels.
